CHRISTIAN:
Happy hour left me smiling. Cheap Bass Ale and $1 sushi pieces will get me
back for sure. Great spicy tuna roll and California roll. With seats inside
and out and a menu that encompasses all Asian cuisine, if you don't find something
about this place to like, you're just not trying.
SANDRA:
I've been here several times and it never fails to satisfy me. I've had a
variety of dishes from the Panang seafood to sushi. This time I had Asian
Green Salad, and it was divine. It's basically a huge mound of spring roll
innards: cabbage, carrot, mushroom, bean sprouts, and delicious dressing.
I got two (one for each side of the salad!) and so I can recommend either
the peanut dressing or the ginger dressing - both were a bit spicy for a little
extra kick. If you like Asian food at all, you'll like this place.
AMY:
The happy hour sushi cuts are thin, but good anyway. I haven't had any sushi
pieces that weren't fresh. There are many and varied scrumptious-sounding
Asian dishes, including dessert (which is unusual for Asian restaurants, in
my experience). The staff is polite and efficient. The restaurant is spacious
with high ceilings and big windows, and it never seems loud and crowded. It
seems to be the hang out for beautiful young Asians.
RICH:
Reasonable prices (within a D.C. context). A tasty and filling sushi and Bass
(English, not sea) dinner will set you back no more than $20 a head, including
tip. The staff seemed competent and attentive-without-hovering. Seating inside
on a muggy summer evening was instantaneous, and the atmosphere casual and
relaxed. I thoroughly enjoyed my outing at Cafe Asia.
